Secondary Air Injection Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the three-way catalytic converter. Refer to Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Service) (Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Service)).
2. Remove the secondary air injection pump pipe. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Pipe Replacement (Secondary Air Injection Pump Pipe Replacement).
3. Remove the check valve pipe fasteners (1) and (2).




4. Remove the check valve bracket fasteners (1) and(2).




5. Remove the check valve (1) and gasket (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the check valve (1) and gasket (2).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the check valve bracket fastener (1) and tighten to 9 Nm(80 lb in).
3. Install the check valve bracket fastener (2) and tighten to 58 Nm(43 lb ft).




4. Install the check valve pipe fasteners (1) and (2).
5. Tighten the check valve pipe fastener (1) to 23 Nm(17 lb ft).
6. Tighten the check valve pipe fastener (2) to 9 Nm(80 lb in).
7. Install the three-way catalytic converter. Refer to Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Service) (Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Service)).
8. Install the secondary air injection pump pipe. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Pipe Replacement (Secondary Air Injection Pump Pipe Replacement).
