Blower Motor: Service and Repair




Blower Motor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the right closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side (Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side).
2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement (Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement).




3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.




4. Disconnect the blower motor processor electrical connector.




5. Remove the screws (1) that retain the blower motor.
6. Remove the air inlet housing bolts to gain clearance for the blower motor.




7. Remove the blower motor.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the blower motor.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the blower motor screws (1) and tighten to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
3. Install the air inlet housing bolts and tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb in).




4. Connect the blower motor processor electrical connector.




5. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
6. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement (Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement).
7. Install the right closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side (Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side).
