Front Differential Carrier Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (9.25 inch) Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (9.25 inch).
3. Remove the air conditioning compressor for the 4.8 L, 5.3 L and 6.0 L engines. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY2, LY5, LH6, L76, L92, LC9 and LMG) Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.




4. Remove the nuts and the washers from the bracket.
5. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the bracket to the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the washers and the nuts to the bracket and tighten to 90 Nm (67 lb ft).
3. Install the air conditioning compressor for the 4.8 L, 5.3 L and 6.0 L engines. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY2, LY5, LH6, L76, L92, LC9 and LMG) Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
4. Install the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (9.25 inch) Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (9.25 inch).
5. Lower the vehicle.
