1982 CORVETTE
1. Release parking brake lever, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Loosen parking brake cable adjusting nut at equalizer until brake shoe actuating levers move freely to the released position with slack in cables.
3. Remove rear wheels and turn each brake rotor until parking brake shoe star adjuster is visible through hole in rotor hub.
4. Insert a suitable adjusting tool through hole in rotor, and tighten adjusters by moving hand away from floor, Fig. 6.
5. Adjust one side at a time, tightening adjuster until rotor cannot be turned by hand, then backing star wheel off 6 to 8 notches.
6. Install rear wheels and pull parking brake lever up 13 notches to the applied position.
7. Tighten cable adjusting nut at equalizer until 80 lbs. pull is required to lift parking brake lever to the 14th notch, then secure adjustment with locknut.
8. Release parking brake lever and check adjustment. Rear wheels should turn freely in both directions with no brake drag.
