Radiator: Service and Repair
RADIATOR
Removal
1. Disconnect battery negative cable at battery.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove air cleaner snorkel.
4. Raise front of vehicle and support on jack stands.
5. Disconnect fan shroud from radiator support bracket.
6. Where equipped, remove transmission cooler lines from radiator.
7. Remove radiator support brackets.
8. Disconnect radiator upper and lower hoses including overflow tube from radiator.
9. Remove radiator.
Installation
1. Place radiator on lower support. Make sure radiator is seated in mounting pads.
2. Connect radiator upper and lower hoses including overflow tube, to radiator. Torque clamp to 20 lb in (2 Nm)
3. Where equipped. install transmission cooler lines to radiator.
4. Install radiator support brackets.
5. Connect fan shroud to radiator support bracket.
6. Lower front of vehicle.
7. Install air cleaner snorkel.
8. Connect battery negative cable.
9. Fill cooling system with an ethylene glycol anti-freeze and water mixture of 50/50%.
10. Start engine and run, with radiator cap removed, until radiator upper hose becomes hot (thermostat open).
11. With engine idling. add coolant to radiator until level reaches bottom of filler neck.
12. Install cap. making sure arrows line up with overflow tube.
