Fuel Tank Replacement

Fuel Tank
The fuel tank consists of a tough, pliable polthylene liner inside a steel container.

Replacement

1. Remove the battery ground cable.
2. Drain the fuel tank.





3. Remove fuel tank filler neck seal and drain hose.
4. Disconnect fuel lines, fuel vapor line and electrical connector.
5. Raise vehicle on hoist.
6. Remove the spare tire from tire carrier.
7. Remove the spare tire carrier bolted attachments and remove carrier.
8. Loosen "U" clamps and seperate exhaust system at transmission support.
9. Remove rear muffler brackets at frame and slide exhaust system rearward.





10. Remove fuel tank strap bolts and lower duel tank.
