Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner and heat stove pipe.
3. Remove PCV valve and disconnect hose from throttle body unit.
4. Drain cooling system, then disconnect fuel lines and vacuum hoses from intake manifold.
5. Disconnect electrical connectors and throttle linkage from throttle body unit.
6. Disconnect automatic transaxle downshift linkage and cruise control linkage, as applicable.
7. Disconnect throttle linkage and bellcrank and position aside.
8. Disconnect heater hose from intake manifold.
9. Remove alternator mounting bracket, then the ignition coil.
10. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts and the manifold.
11. Reverse procedure to install, using a new gasket. Torque attaching bolts to specifications in sequence, Fig. 3.
