Oil Level Indicator Tube Assembly:
The oil level indicator tube assembly is made by either brazing or spot welding the brackets to the tube. With the spot weld design (see illustration below), the protrusions into the tube can restrict the dipstick from being fully seated. When this happens, the dipstick will indicate approximately one (1) pint low and, if brought up to full, it will actually be too full. If this condition is encountered, the dipstick tube should be replaced.
WDDGM dipstick tube (P/N 10027337) service stock is only the braze design.
The oil fill recommendations for this engine is three
(3) quarts with or without an oil filter change.
