Disassemble

1. Remove retainer from left hand end of shaft. The retainer and shaft are designed with left hand threads.




2. Using blocking plates behind 4th gear and tool No. J-26943, press on end of output shaft to remove 3rd/4th gear and left hand bearing. Third and fourth gear is a one piece gear.

3. Slide 2nd speed gear from output shaft, then remove brass blocker ring.

4. Remove snap ring retaining 1-2 synchronizer.

5. Using press plates behind 1st gear, press 1st gear and 1-2 synchronizer from output shaft.




6. Install tool No. J-22227-A on output shaft bearing, then remove bearing by pressing on pilot tool No. J-26943.
