Evaporator Core: Service and Repair


CORVETTE

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and discharge system refrigerant.
2. Remove air cleaner, then the front wheel house rear panel and seal.
3. Disconnect electrical connectors, windshield washer hose and hood release cable at housing and position out of way.
4. Disconnect evaporator outlet hose at evaporator and remove hose bracket at inner fender.
5. Remove pressure cycling switch.
6. Release pressure on cooling system, cut heater hoses at heater core inlet and outlet and remove hot water valve.
7. Remove heater hose bracket at inner fender.
8. Disconnect evaporator inlet hose at evaporator and remove hose bracket at inner fender.
9. Remove transmission cooler line rear bracket at frame.
10. Remove left half cover to bulkhead bolts and nuts.
11. Remove left half to right half cover bolts and the evaporator inlet bracket screw.
12. Split case halves and remove evaporator core.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
