Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Description and Operation
The coolant temperature sensor supplies coolant temperature information to the ECM. It is mounted in the engine coolant stream and has high resistance when the engine is cold and low resistance when the engine is warm. The ECM receives this information and controls the various systems that are dependent on temperature for proper operation.
