Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

S/T-10/15

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge system refrigerant.
2. Leaving wires attached, remove resistor screws and place resistor to side.
3. Loosen air cleaner and place to side.
4. At core side of case, remove 5 screws and 2 nuts, Fig. 11.
5. Disconnect A/C harness connection.
6. Separate case halves, then remove core cover.
7. Disconnect line to accumulator, then disconnect liquid line.
8. Remove evaporator line bracket to accumulator bracket screw.
9. Remove evaporator core with orifice tube.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
