Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

EXC. 16 VALVE ENGINE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect vacuum lines.
4. Disconnect throttle valve cable.
5. Disconnect accelerator cable.
6. Disconnect electrical connector from carburetor.
7. Disconnect fuel line from fuel pump.
8. Disconnect all necessary vacuum lines and remove carburetor assembly.
9. Remove early fuel evaporation (EFE) gasket.
10. Disconnect vacuum line, then remove dashpot bracket.
11. Remove heat shield.
12. Raise and support vehicle.
13. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
14. Remove exhaust bracket from engine.
15. Disconnect air hose from converter pipe.
16. Lower vehicle.
17. Disconnect brake vacuum hose.
18. Remove accelerator and throttle cable bracket.
19. Remove intake and exhaust manifolds and gaskets.
20. Reverse procedure to install.
