Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Vehicle Ride (Trim) Height Specifications

Trim Height:

The following procedure should be followed before making any trim height measurement.

1. "Z", "J" & "P" DIMENSIONS

a. Lift vehicle up approximately 1-1/2" at the front of the bumper and gently remove hands allowing vehicle to settle on its own. Repeat this lifting operation twice for a total of three times. Measure the "Z", "J" & "P" heights in the settled position after the third lift.

b. Push vehicle down approximately 1-1/2" at the front bumper and gently remove hands allowing vehicle to settle on its own. Repeat this pushing down operation twice for a total of 3 times. Measure the "Z", "J" & "P" heights in the settled position after the third push.

c. The true "Z", "J" & "P" height is the average of (a) and (b) for each side.

2. "D", "K" & "R" DIMENSIONS

NOTE: Follow the same pattern as stated above for the "Z", "K" & "R" dimensions except: Lift and push on the rear bumper.
