Model and Year: ALL FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

FRONT WHEEL DRIVERADIAL TIRE LEAD/PULL CORRECTION CHART:

The attached revised Chassis Service Manual Radial Tire Lead/Pull Correction Chart should be used for diagnosis of lead/pull comments on all front-wheel drive cars.

Do not use the charts in the 1987 Cavalier, Celebrity, Corsica or Beretta chassis service manuals. This chart provides a more consistent and efficient method of diagnosis and correction of lead/pull comments by calling for the front tires and wheels to be cross-switched before any alignment checks or corrections are made. Many lead/pull comments have been traced to tire conicity conditions and the revised charts will lead to quicker identification and correction of this condition.

NOTE: If repairs are required on vehicles with less than 500 miles, prior Chevrolet wholesale approval is required before proceeding with front end alignment. Refer to Chevrolet Dealer Letter #123 dated May 13, 1987, from Mr. Starr.

The revised chart will be incorporated into the 1988 Chassis Service Manuals.
