EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection
EXCEPT 4-137 CALIFORNIA
1.
Remove valve from manifold.
2.
Apply a constant vacuum of 15 inches Hg to vacuum inlet port. Valve should open fully and remain open.
3.
Remove vacuum source. Valve should close fully as soon as vacuum source is removed.
4.
If
EGR valve fails to perform as outlined, valve is defective.
