Idle Mixture Adjustment


4-97.6 NOVA MODELS

1. Start and operate engine until normal operating temperature is obtained.
2. Stop engine, then remove carburetor assembly.
3. Remove mixture adjusting screw (concealment) plug.
4. Install carburetor.
5. Set idle speed and idle mixture as follows:
a. Start engine.
b. Set maximum speed by turning idle mixture adjusting screw to 700 RPM.
c. Set idle speed to specification.
d. Before proceeding to the next step, continue to adjust until maximum speed will not rise any further no matter how much the idle mixture adjusting screw is turned.
e. Set idle speed to 650 RPM by turning idle mixture adjusting screw.
f. Turn idle speed adjusting screw until specified idle speed is obtained
