EGR Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation
EGR Diagnostic Switch:
This switch is mounted in the EGR flow tube. This switch monitors the temperature of air that flows pass the EGR valve. When the air is hot enough the switch closes. During cold operation and at idle, the circuit is not grounded by the ECM. This blocks vacuum to the EGR valve. If a failure occurs, the ECM will set a Code 32.
