Clutch Switch: Service and Repair

1. To avoid personal injury when servicing models equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (Airbag) System, temporarily disarm system. Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and set parking brake.
3. Remove hush panel from under instrument panel.
4. Remove clip securing clutch start switch actuating lever to clutch pedal, then disengage lever from pedal arm, Fig. 14.
5. Remove clutch start switch to pedal bracket retaining screw, then disconnect electrical connector and remove switch.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
7. After completing service procedure activate Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (Airbag) System, if equipped. Refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
