Heater Core: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect

- Disable the SIR system.
1. IP assembly.
2. Screws and floor outlet, turning clockwise and to the right to release from rear floor air outlet.
3. Engine coolant.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Heater hoses from the heater core.
6. Drain tube elbow from heater core cover.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Screws and heater core cover.
9. Heater core straps and screws, after positioning heater core.

Install or Connect

1. Heater core straps and screws, after positioning heater core. Tighten screws to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in).
2. Heater core cover and screws. Tighten screws to 1.4Nm (12 lb in).
3. Floor outlet and screws; verify proper engagement to rear floor air outlet. Tighten screws to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in).
4. IP assembly.
5. Raise vehicle.
6. Heater hoses to heater core.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Fill cooling system.
- Enable the SIR system.
