Assemble

1. Lubricate new inner and outer clutch piston seals and seal pockets in housing with Dexron III transmission fluid.

2. Install clutch piston seals on piston with lips facing away from spring pockets.

3. Install clutch piston on center support using seal protector tool No. J-21362 or equivalent.

4. Install spring and retainer assembly and snap ring using intermediate clutch piston compressor adapter tool No. 38734 or equivalent.

5. Preheat new sealing ring in hot tap water, then install them on new center support hub using seal tool Nos. J-38735-1, J-38735-2 and J-38735-3 or equivalents. Use small chamfered end of sizer J-38735-2 to do lower ring, then use larger chamfered end to size all other seals. Start with lower ring, then work towards top.
