Valve Spring: Service and Repair

1. Remove rocker arm cover, then the spark plug, rocker arm and pushrod on cylinder(s) being serviced. Keep valve train parts in order they are removed so they can be installed in their original position.
2. Install air line adapter tool No. J-23590 or equivalent to spark plug port and apply compressed air to hold valves in place.
3. Using valve spring compressor tool No. J-5892 or equivalent to compress valve spring, remove valve locks, valve caps, valve spring and seat.
4. Remove valve stem oil seal.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
