2-4 Servo Assembly

1. Raise and support vehicle.

2. Remove rear suspension torque arm to transmission attaching bolts.

3. Remove propeller shaft as follows:

a. Using a center punch or suitable equivalent, mark propeller shaft and rear axle yoke for installation reference.

b. Remove propeller shaft strap bolts and retaining straps.

c. Slide propeller shaft slip yoke out of the transmission.

4. Remove exhaust hanger and support transmission with suitable lifting device.

5. Remove transmission support and mount.

6. Lower transmission, then remove two oil pan bolts from below servo cover.

7. Install servo cover compressor tool No. J-29714 or equivalent on oil pan flange and depress servo cover.

8. Remove servo cover retaining ring.

9. Remove servo cover and seal ring.

10. Remove servo piston and bore-apply pin assembly.

11. Reverse procedure to install. Whenever any servo parts are replaced, apply-pin length must be checked.
