Governor: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle
2. On Corvette models, remove upper and lower body braces, then the complete exhaust system.
3. On 1991-92 Caprice, Custom Cruiser and Roadmaster models, proceed as follows:
a. Remove transmission mount to support nut.
b. Remove support to frame attaching bolts.
c. Using a transmission jack, support and raise transmission slightly.
d. Remove transmission support, then lower transmission to gain access to governor cover.
4. On all models, remove governor cover from case using extreme care not to damage cover. If cover is damaged, it should be replaced.
5. Remove governor.
6. Reverse procedure to install and check fluid level.
