Distributor Removal

Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor harness connector.
3. Air intake duct.
4. Serpentine drive belt.
5. Drain engine coolant from engine.
6. Coolant pump assembly hoses (3).
7. ECM coolant sensor connector.

Coolant Pump:






8. Coolant pump assembly.

Torsional Dampener:






9. Crankshaft torsional damper.
10. Belt tensioner.
11. Spark plug (secondary) cables from distributor. Twist a boot 1/2 turn before removing and pull only on the boot to remove wire from distributor.
12. Four-terminal ECM connector from distributor.

Distributor:






13. distributor mounting bolts (3). Pull distributor forward until drive shaft disengages from engine. Mark the top surface of the shaft to denote location during reassembly.
