Brake Signal: Description and Operation
PURPOSE The
PCM uses the
brake signal to release the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) when the brakes are applied.
OPERATION The brake switch is normally closed when the brake pedal is released. When closed, the switch provides a 12 volt signal to the
PCM. When open (brake applied) the PCM receives a 0 volt signal.
DTC 37 or 38 are associated with the
brake signal.
