[1] The eighth digit of the VIN denotes engine code.

[2] A "California" version of this engine exists on certain models. The California engine has Sequential Fuel Injection (SFI). Engine control, ignition and Fuel control system differ between these two models. The engine may also be referred to as a Gen II S, or SFI-66 fuel system.
