Removal

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Disable the SIR system, refer to Disabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Service and Repair
2. Recover refrigerant.
3. Negative battery cable.
4. Raise vehicle.
5. Front exhaust shield.
6. Cradle cross brace.
^ Remove three of the bolts and swing aside.
7. Drain tube from heater case.
8. Lines from evaporator, discarding O-rings.
9. Lower vehicle.
10. Right side under dash insulator panel.
11. Electrical junction box at heater core cover.
12. Left side insulator panel.
13. Steering column filler.
14. Floor duct.
15. Heater core cover.
16. Heater core shroud and straps.

CAUTION: The heater core will be suspended by the heater core pipes at this point. Do not apply any downward pressure on the core, otherwise damage may occur to the heater core pipes.

17. Evaporator assembly.
