Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

CAUTION: Care must be taken when handling engine coolant (ECT) temperature sensor. Damage to engine coolant sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

REMOVE OR DISASSEMBLE
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain coolant below level of sensor.
3. Electrical connector.
4. Carefully back out sensor.


INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coat threads (only) with sealer P/N 9985253 or equivalent.
2. Sensor in engine.
3. Electrical connector.
4. Refill lost coolant.
5. Negative battery cable.
