TP Sensor Replacement:






Since Throttle Position (TP) sensor configurations can be mounted interchangeably, be sure to order the correct one for your engine with the identical part number of the one being replaced.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1 Air Cleaner and adaptor.
2. Electrical connector.
3. TP sensor attaching screw assemblies.
4. TP sensor.
5. TP sensor seal.

NOTICE:
The Throttle Position (TP) sensor is an electrical component, and should not be immersed in any type of liquid solvent or cleaner, as damage may result.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. TP sensor seal on throttle shaft.
2. With the throttle closed, TP sensor on throttle shaft. Rotate counterclockwise to align mounting holes.
3. Attaching screws.

Tighten
Attaching screws to 2.0 Nm (18 lb. in.).

4. TP sensor electrical connector.
5. Air cleaner and adapter.

MEASURE
Connect scan tool scanner to read TP sensor output voltage. With the ignition "ON" and the engine "OFF," TP sensor voltage should be less than 0.85 volt. If more that 0.85 volt, replace sensor.
