Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

Condenser:






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system, refer to Disabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Service and Repair
2. Recover refrigerant from A/C system.
3. Radiator air upper baffle.
4. Engine cooling fan.
5. Forward discriminating sensor.
6. Receiver Dehydrator (R/D) tube from condenser outlet.
7. A/C compressor and condenser hose from condenser inlet.
8. Screws attaching condenser to radiator.
9. Bolts from upper radiator mounting brackets.
10. Pull windshield washer bottle filler neck from windshield washer bottle.
11. Condenser from vehicle by tipping radiator toward engine.

NOTICE: If replacing condenser, refer to Refrigerant Oil Distribution. Specifications

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Condenser into position by tipping radiator toward engine.
2. Filler neck to windshield washer bottle.
3. Radiator upper mounting brackets and bolts.
4. Screws attaching condenser to radiator.
5. A/C compressor and condenser hose to condenser inlet.
6. R/D tube to condenser outlet.
7. Forward discriminating sensor.
8. Engine cooling fan.
9. Radiator air upper baffle.
10. Enable the SIR system, refer to Enabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint SIR System. Service and Repair
11. Evacuate, charge and leak test A/C system.
