Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
2. Heated oxygen sensors electrical connectors.
3. Heated oxygen sensors from catalytic converter.
4. Catalytic convener bolts/screws at exhaust manifolds.
5. Exhaust pipe clamp bolt/screw at catalytic convener.
6. Catalytic convener from exhaust pipe.
7. Catalytic convener hanger bolts/screw.
8. Catalytic converter hanger from catalytic convener.


INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Catalytic converter to catalytic converter hanger.
2. Catalytic convener hanger bolts/screws.
- Tighten Catalytic convener hanger bolts/screws to 41 Nm (30 lb ft).
3. Catalytic convener to exhaust pipe.
4. Exhaust pipe clamp bolt/screw at catalytic convener.
- Tighten Clamp bolt/screw to 68 Nm (50 lb ft).
5. Catalytic converter pipe bolts/screws at exhaust manifolds.
- Tighten 3-way catalytic convener pipe bolts/screws to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
6. Heated oxygen sensors to catalytic conveners.
- Tighten Heated oxygen sensor to 42 Nm (31 lb ft).
7. Heated oxygen sensors electrical connectors.
8. Lower vehicle.
