Circuit Operation

The Data Link Connector (DLC) is provided to enable communications with specific control modules using an external Scan Tool. The use of the Scan Tool in control module diagnostics is described in the Computers and Control Systems, Supplemental Inflatable Restraints, and Antilock Brakes. The Data Link PPL (1807) wire allows internal communications between control modules as well as with the external Scan Tool. Module to module communications are described and diagnosed in the appropriate manual sections. A module to module communication failure due to wiring problems will also result in communications failures with the Scan Tool.

DLC Cavity 8 for the BLK/WHT (1455) wire is used for programming Remote Control Door Lock Receiver for new transmitters.
