Wiper Gear Box: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove wiper arm assembly.
2. Remove cowl vent grille.
3. Remove transmission screws, then the transmission as follows:
a. Unseat transmission assembly from wiper motor crank arm using wiper transmission separator tool No. J-39232, or equivalent.
b. Remove through access openings in top of cowl.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
5. Torque transmission assembly screws to 10.0 ft. lbs.
6. Wiper transmission assembly must be assembled to crank arm past second detent so seal is compressed to maximum height of 1 inch.
