C0065

Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Power And Ground:

DTC C0065 - Pump Motor Relay Circuit Open:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The relay supplies power to all eight solenoid coils (4 isolation solenoid coils and 4 dump solenoid coils) when Antilock Brake System (ABS) operation is required. The relay and the eight solenoid coils are located within the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
EBCM microprocessor commands the relay on low voltage on all eight solenoid driver circuits when all are expected to be high (solenoid not energized)

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ ANTILOCK indicator lamp is illuminated
^ ABS is disabled

NOTE: This DTC is an Ignition Latched DTC, which indicates that the above is true until the ignition switch is turned to Off position (even if the cause of the DTC is intermittent).

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
DTC C0065 is usually set by an open relay coil or non-closeable relay contacts. The relay is located within the EBCM and is not serviceable. If the test does not repair the DTC, the EBCM must be replaced.

TEST DESCRIPTION

NOTE: Number(s) below refer to number(s) on the diagnostic chart.

2. Inspect the EBCM 2-way harness connector for damage.
3. Check the ground circuits to the EBCM.
4. Check the power circuits to the EBCM.
