Starter Replacement

Starter Mounting:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable at battery.
2. Raise Vehicle.
3. Bending brace from around starter (manual transmission only).
4. Starter motor-to-engine bolts then lower the starter.
- Nuts/bolts that hold the starter bracket to the starter and engine.
5. Wires.
6. Starter.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Starter.
2. Wires to starter.

Tighten
- "S" terminal to 2.5 N.m (22 lb. in.).
- Battery terminal to 1O N.m (89 lb. in.).

3. Starter to engine bolts.

Tighten
- Bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
- Install nuts/bolts that hold the starter bracket to the starter and engine to 43 N.m (32 lb. ft.).

4. Bending brace (manual transmission only).
5. Lower car.
6. Negative battery cable.

Tighten
- Bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb. ft.).
