Generator Electrical Connections:

Generator Mounting Bracket And Fastener Tightening Sequence:
CAUTION: Refer to "CAUTIONS".
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Battery ground (negative) cable.
2. Drive belt from generator.
3. Windshield wiper system module cover.
4. Windshield wiper motor crank arm link from wiper motor and move aside.
5. Wiper arms to vertical position on windshield for access.
6. Engine mount strut bracket bolts and rotate engine forward.
7. Electrical connections from generator.
8. Nut and battery positive lead from generator output "BAT" terminal.
9. Generator front brace.
10. Generator rear brace.
11. Generator pivot bolt and nut from generator.
12. Install a floor jack at the center front of the frame.
13. Remove front frame bolts.
14. Lower the frame 3 inches.
NOTE: Ensure that lowering the frame does not interfere with the bumper fascia or subsequent fascia damage may result.
15. Generator from engine.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Generator to engine.
2. Raise the frame using the floor jack.
3. New front frame bolts.
4. Remove floor jack.
5. Generator pivot bolt and nut to generator.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
6. Generator rear brace.
7. Generator front brace.
8. Battery positive lead to generator output "BAT" terminal with nut.
Tighten
^ Nut to 25 N.m (18 lb. ft.)
9. Electrical connections to generator.
10. Rotate engine rearward and install engine mount strut bracket bolts.
11. Windshield wiper motor crank arm link to wiper motor.
12. Windshield wiper system module cover.
13. Drive belt to generator.
14. Battery ground (negative) cable.
Inspect
^ Front end toe-in alignment. Adjust if necessary.
