Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the service port valve caps.
2. Recover the refrigerant.
3. Using an R-134a valve core remover/installer, unscrew and remove the valve core from the service port.

Installation Procedure

1. Using an R-134a valve core remover/installer, install the new valve core to the service port.
2. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system.
3. Check the service ports for refrigerant leaks.
4. Install the service port valve caps.
