Engine Block Plug Removal

- J 41712 Oil Pressure Sending Unit Socket





1. Remove the bolts, the fuel pump opening cover, and the fuel pump opening cover gasket.

CAUTION: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

2. Discard the fuel pump opening gasket.





3. Remove the transmission locator pins (if required).





4. Remove the expansion cup plug (camshaft rear bearing hole).





5. Remove the knock sensor.





6. Remove the fuel pump switch & engine oil pressure gauge sensor using the J 41712.





7. Remove the engine oil pressure sensor gauge sensor fitting.





8. Remove the square socket plugs (engine block oil gallery) from the rear of the engine block.





9. Remove the left side rear and left rear top engine block oil gallery plugs.





10. Remove the front engine block oil gallery plugs from the engine block and discard.
Insert a 3/8 x 26 inch rod into the rear oil gallery holes in order to drive out the front engine block oil gallery plugs.
