REMOVAL PROCEDURE
Disconnect the negative battery cable under the following circumstances:

^ When Installing an electrical unit.
^ When a tool or equipment could easily come into contact with "live" exposed electrical terminals.

WARNING: Failure to disconnect the negative battery terminal may result in personal Injury or damage to the vehicle's components. Turn OFF the vehicle ignition, unless instructed otherwise.

1. Remove the Engine Cover.
2. Drain the cooling system below the level of the sensor.
3. Remove the harness connector from the ECT sensor by releasing the locking tab.
4. Remove the ECT sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the ECT sensor into the engine.
2. Install the harness connector.
3. Refill the coolant system.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the PCM electrical harness is properly routed to avoid contact with the Engine Cover during installation.

4. Install the Engine Cover.
