Negative: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE






1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Battery Disconnect/Connect). Service and Repair
2. Disconnect the negative ground lead from the inner fender panel.






3. Disconnect the negative ground from the engine.
4. Remove the negative cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE






1. Install the negative cable to the vehicle.






2. Connect the negative ground to the engine.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Tighten
Tighten the negative ground bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).






3. Connect the negative ground lead to the inner fender panel.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Connect the battery negative cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Battery Disconnect/Connect). Service and Repair

Tighten
Tighten the battery negative cable to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
