Pressure Relief Valve

Removal Procedure

1. Replace the pressure relief valve if it is open.
Inspect for signs of refrigerant leakage.
2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant.
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
4. Remove the pressure relief valve (2) from the compressor.
5. Discard the O-ring (3).

Installation Procedure

1. Lubricate the O-ring (3) with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
2. Install the O-ring on the pressure relief valve (2).
3. Install the pressure relief valve to the compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the pressure relief valve to 12-18 N.m (8.8-13 lb ft).

4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning (A/C) system.
6. Operate the A/C system and inspect for refrigerant leaks.
