Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the two spark plug wires from the 1 - 4 ignition coil (2) or the 2 - 3 ignition coil (1).





2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty ignition coil.
3. Remove the two bolts that attach the ignition coil to the cylinder head.
4. Remove the ignition coil from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure

: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.






1. Install the ignition coil to the cylinder head and secure with the two bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the ignition coil attaching bolts to 10 N.m (7.5 lb ft).

2. Connect the ignition coil electrical connector.





3. Connect the correct two spark plug wires to 1 - 4 ignition coil (2) or the 2 - 3 ignition coil (1).
