Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CAUTION: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.




Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the two bolts (2) from the throttle body.
3. Remove the TP sensor (1) from the throttle body.




Installation Procedure
1. Align the TP sensor (3) onto the throttle body so that the sensor pickup lever (2) can engage with the throttle body lever (1).
2. Secure the TP sensor with two bolts do not fully tighten.
3. Adjust the TP sensor. Refer to TP Sensor Adjustment.
4. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
