Speed Compensated Volume
In order to turn the Speed Compensated Volume (
SCV) ON or OFF, press and hold the AUTO TONE button for
2 seconds. The display will show SPEED VOL OFF or SCV ON #### (# denotes blocks). If the SCV is off, another momentary press of the AUTO TONE button turns on the SCV. Pressing the AUTO TONE button again will turn off the SCV. While the SCV information is showing on the
radio display, turning the VOLUME knob adjusts the amount of speed compensation. The number of blocks in the display indicate the amount of compensation. Allowing the SCV mode to time-out in
5 seconds retains the SCV setting at that point. Time-out is the only way to exit the SCV mode.
