Battery Tray Replacement (Front)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery negative terminal.
2. Disconnect the battery positive cable from the battery positive terminal.
3. Remove the battery limiter from the vehicle if equipped.
4. Remove the battery hold-down bolt and retainer.
5. Remove the battery.




6. Remove the battery tray bolts.
7. Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.




8. Remove the vacuum hose and tank from the battery tray.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the vacuum hose and tank to the battery tray.




2. Install the battery tray to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the battery tray bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




4. Install the battery.
5. Install the hold-down retainer and bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the retainer bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the positive battery cable to the battery.

Tighten
Tighten the cable to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

7. Install the negative battery cable to the battery.

Tighten
Tighten the cable to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

8. Install the battery limiter to the vehicle if equipped.
