Battery Replacement




REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Remove the battery hold-down retainer.
2. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.

IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during battery removal.

3. Remove the battery.
4. Remove the battery insulator from the battery.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the battery insulator to the battery.

IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during battery installation.

2. Install the battery.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Connect the positive battery cable to the battery.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery terminal bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

4. Install the battery hold-down retainer.
