Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Replacement (7X)

7X Crank Shaft Position (CKP) Sensor:

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Crank steering wheel fully to the left.
3. Raise vehicle on hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
4. Disconnect sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove shield.
6. Remove bolt/screw.
7. Remove sensor from engine.
8. Inspect for the following:
8.1. Inspect the sensor for wear, cracks, or leakage. Replace the O-ring if necessary.
8.2. Lubricate the new O-ring with clean engine oil before installing.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the sensor to the block.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Reinstall stall the bolt to hold sensor to block face.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

3. Reinstall shield.
4. Connect the electrical connector.
5. Lower the vehicle.
