Compressor Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.Service and Repair
2. Remove the drive belt.
3. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor hose assembly.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors as necessary.
5. Remove the (A/C) compressor mounting bolts.
6. Remove the (A/C) compressor from the bracket.
7. Drain, measure, and dispose of the compressor oil.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Fill the compressor with oil. Refer to Compressor Oil Level Check.
2. Install the compressor into the bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the compressor bolts.

Tighten
Tightenthe nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

4. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly.
5. Connect the electrical connections.
6. Install the drive belt.
7. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.Service and Repair
8. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.Leak Testing
