Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor harness connector.




2. Remove the TP sensor attaching screws.

NOTE: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor in any liquid cleaner or solvent, as damage may result.




3. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Ensure the throttle valve is closed.




1. Install the TP sensor on the throttle shaft.
2. Align the TP sensor flange holes with the throttle body attaching screw holes.

NOTE:Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




3. Install the TP sensor attaching screws.

Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2.0 N.m (18 lb in).




4. Connect the TP sensor harness connector.
